Isobel Neve MBACP Dip. Couns.
Qualifications
I am a qualified and experienced counsellor with a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (CPCAB). I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I as such I work within their Ethical Framework. This means that I put values such as trustworthiness, confidentiality, no-judgement and client autonomy at the heart of my work.
Therapeutic Approach
I work as an 'integrative counsellor' which means that I can draw upon a range of different therapeutic approaches in order to support you as an individual. This can involve helping you to explore your own issues, history, feelings, beliefs, behaviour, values and worldview, so you can become more self-aware and confident in making your own choices. I won't try to 'fix' you or tell you what to do but can help you see that you have options.
You may not be used to sharing your experiences, thoughts and feelings with another person and that could feel strange or even scary at first. However, I am here to guide you through it at your own pace. I won't be forcing you to share anything that you are not ready to share. You may have a lot of questions, and I encourage you to ask and share your feedback with me. Clients have commented that they find me warm, calm and approachable.
Breathwork
As well as being a Counsellor, I am also a qualified Breathwork Coach. Breathwork is a natural, simple and powerful tool that has the ability to transform your wellbeing. It is extremely beneficial for people who suffer with the symptoms of trauma, depression, anxiety, sleep issues and chronic pain. I can integrate simple breathwork practices into counselling sessions or I could provide a whole session or series of sessions focussing solely on breathwork. Please enquire if this is something that interests you.
Experience
As well as my private practice, I had the privilege of working for a registered charity for five years providing counselling to adults living within Maidenhead, Slough, Windsor and surrounding areas.
I have experience of working with people from all walks of life who are struggling with a wide range of issues such as depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, relationship difficulties, childhood issues, work issues, low self-esteem, bereavement and loss, long term health issues, anger, lack of purpose, not feeling understood, cultural conflicts, life-transition struggles and the effects of trauma.
Further Professional Development
I love learning and am committed to continuing my personal and professional development. I regularly attend courses and workshops in subjects that interest me and that help inform my counselling practice.
